André joined the Sopartec / VIVES team in 2008 as Senior Investment Manager. He is a member of the VIVES Investment Committee and member of the board of directors of several portfolio companies, mainly in the technology/engineering field.
Over the last 10 years, André has worked “hand with” at all levels of company development (due diligence, shareholders agreement, management contract, capital rounds, crisis management, trade sale, etc.). He also contributes to the other Sopartec activities (technology projects follow-up, technology commercialization, set-up of spin-off companies).
André is a graduate of Ecole Polytechnique de Louvain (Electrical engineer in 1983) and began his career as a researcher in the Université catholique de Louvain microelectronics lab, in the cryptography field. Beyond the theoretical study, design and fabrication of a dedicated processor, 15 scientific publications and 2 patents, André also actively supervised a dozen of MS thesis.
André thereafter joined Alcatel Microelectronics in 1989, a Belgian company acquired in 2002 by STMicroelectronics, a world leader in the semiconductor industry. In this international environment, André held various positions successively in the field of R & D, marketing, sales, account management and business development. André was at a time WW Alcatel Account Director and achieved sales growth from 100 m€ to 300 M€ over 4 years. During his carrier, André also participated to several M&A corporate activities (including managing the Alcatel Microelectronics due diligence) as well as to the negotiation of product or licensing deals at corporate level.
